An ACSR crimping head consists of a rugged body, a hydraulic cylinder and a die holder adapted to the specific ACSR connector system. The head is supplied with pressure from an external hydraulic pump. The ram advances and compresses the sleeve or clamp onto the conductor in several steps or crimps, according to the connector manufacturer’s instructions.
