Design and operating principle of hollow plunger cylinders

In a hollow plunger cylinder, the piston is designed as an annular piston with a central through-hole. Threaded bars, anchors, bolts or other elements can pass through this bore. When hydraulic pressure is applied, the piston extends and transfers force to the clamped element or directly to the load.

This category covers single-acting hollow plunger cylinders. Extension is achieved by hydraulic pressure, while the return stroke, depending on the design, is provided by spring force, the weight of the load or external mechanisms.
